What Matters is a private, single-user dashboard. Its calendar connection helps its owner view and manage their schedule.

Google Calendar access

With the owner’s permission, What Matters uses their Google account identity and email address to verify the connected account. It reads events from that account’s primary calendar and lets the owner create, edit and delete events there. Although Google’s permission covers events on calendars the account owns, this dashboard uses only the primary calendar.

How data is used and stored

Calendar information is used to display the schedule and carry out changes requested by the owner. Requests are processed by the application’s server on Vercel and sent to Google Calendar. OAuth access and refresh tokens, together with the verified Google identity, are encrypted before storage in Supabase. This connection storage is accessible only to the server, and calendar features require the dashboard owner’s authenticated session.

A previously saved schedule may remain available in dashboard storage or backups when a live connection is unavailable. Connection credentials are retained to keep the authorised connection working. Stored records and backups are managed by the dashboard owner through application administration.

Sharing and permitted use

Google data is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train AI models. It is processed only to provide this dashboard’s calendar features, using Google, Vercel and Supabase as described above.

What Matters’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Control over the connection

The owner can revoke What Matters’ access at any time in their Google Account’s third-party connections. Revoking access prevents further authorised access to Google Calendar. It does not delete events in Google Calendar or automatically remove previously saved schedules or backups; those records require separate removal through owner administration.
